Jasmine's Newborn Photos

Jasmine has been home a week and a half now.  It has been a little difficult adjusting to the new sleep schedule.  Because she was born 7 weeks early, the doctor wants her on a strict 3 hour feeding schedule.  She said we could let her go 4 hours once at night, but that's it.  So needless to say, I'm a little sleep deprived but she's so worth it!  We love her so much! Gabby is still adjusting to her too.  She does pretty well for the most part except for when I have to nurse Jasmine because then I can't really divide my attention at that point.  I do my best to entertain Gabby with making silly faces, singing and things like that while I feed Jasmine, but usually Gabby wants to be held then too.  I think it's because she sees Jasmine being held and she gets a little jealous.  Other than that, I'm really proud of Gabby.  She's already an awesome big sister :)

We got her newborn photos back yesterday.  They're so cute! Here are some of my favorites:
Our growing family

This is by far my favorite picture!

She's holding the carrot!  How cute is that???

Oh and if you really like them and are interested in our photographer, we use a lady at our church.  Her name is Becky Eastman and her business is Pebblebrook Portraits.  She's fabulous!

SHE'S HOME!!!

I decided not to post that she would be coming home because every time I did, she ended up NOT coming home so I thought maybe I was jinxing it.  But now she's home so I can't jinx it now!!!  I roomed in last night at the hospital.  Jasmine and I had our own private room.  It was absolutely amazing to spend more than 2 hours with her.  We did all the paperwork this morning and came home this afternoon.  What a great belated Valentine's gift!  Our family is FINALLY together!

Here are the pictures my sister took of us:

This is my favorite picture!

We took a video of Gabby and Jasmine meeting for the first time but it won't let me upload it for some reason.  I'll try it again tomorrow.  We are getting Jasmine's newborn photos done tomorrow and I can't wait for that!  HAPPY DAY!!!

Another Setback

Gabby's fever spiked again last night so Jasmine won't be coming home on Monday anymore.  And Gabby got diarrhea today too so that was fun-especially when she went #2 in the bathtub.  Counter productive just a little bit? I'd say so.  And now I'm starting to feel sick.  I have a huge headache and my throat is killing me.  Gabby wants all my attention because she's sick and I just don't have the energy to give it to her.  I haven't been sick since Gabby's been born, so I have to figure this out.  I feel awful she can't breathe and she's having a hard time sleeping and her appetite has gone down tremendously.  This is just such a major bummer.  Every time we get a discharge date for Jasmine something happens so we can't take her home.  So frustrating.  Keep Gabby in your prayers.

Jazzy Fresh

Here's another update on miss Jazzy Fresh-she's doing wonderful!  She's almost 6 pounds now!  She's taking all her feeding by bottle now, which means
SHE CAN COME HOME!!!!!!!
She was actually supposed to come home this morning, but Gabby got sick and they thought she had RSV, but she doesn't.  Phew!  The NICU doctor doesn't want Jasmine to come home until Gabby has been fever free for 24 hours straight.  As of this morning, Gabby's fever was gone so they said Jasmine can come home on Monday.  I'll be spending the night in the hospital with Jasmine in our own room on Sunday night so I can get a feel for what it will be like taking care of her then on Monday late morning-early afternoon we get to take her home!!!!!  I'm so excited!  I am freaking out just a wee little bit in my head wondering how the heck I'm going to handle two kids under 10 months, but I know the Lord will help me.  He obviously knows I can handle it or I wouldn't have 2 kids so fast.  We are so grateful for all of our wonderful family and friends and for your support and prayers.  We'll be under house arrest except for trips to the doctor until Jasmine's due date (March 11), but hopefully that will go by quickly so everyone can meet her.  YAY JASMINE!!! We love you baby girl and can't wait to have you home!

PS-I can't wait to see Gabby's face when she meets Jasmine.  I'm pretty sure it will be a priceless moment.  We're definitely recording it so we can remember it forever :)

Jasmine Update

SOOOOO I'm sure you're dying to find out how Jasmine is doing.  Well...she's doing GREAT! It's looking like she'll be coming home at the end of this week!  Woo hoo!!! The only thing she has to do is get the feeding down, which she's doing a lot better now :) She breast fed for 10 minutes today, which for 35 weeks is absolutely amazing!  I'm so proud of our little girl! Here's a few pictures of her.
