I have been VERY unmotivated to lose the rest of this darn baby weight. I've started various workout programs and counted calories, but nothing has stuck. I even seriously considered doing Nutrisystem, but decided it was too expensive. I actually lost a ton of weight right after I had Jasmine, but then somehow in the past 6 weeks I've gained 12 pounds! OH HECK NO!!! Soooo, I've decided to keep me motivated, I am going to be posting my weight on the blog every week. I figure that if I announce my weight to the entire world (or at least to the readers of the blog), I'll lose the weight faster because let's face it, who wants people to know their weight unless they are super skinny. So here's my current information:
Weight: 131
BMI: 25.6
Goal Weight: 115
In order for my BMI to be in the normal weight range, I can't weigh more than 128. I am going to force myself to count calories. I will be on a 1200 calorie diet. I sometimes forget to eat, so I need something quick I can grab for the car if I've forgotten. So my plan is to have a Slim Fast Shake (well, actually the Wal Mart brand because it's cheaper) for breakfast AND lunch-they are 230 calories, so that leaves 740 calories for snacks and dinner-then have a sensible dinner. My mother has diabetes so we're starting to eat healthier for her, so this shouldn't be too difficult I hope. I am going to drink at least 64 ounces of water a day. Of course I will be exercising as well. Its' really hard to find the time to work out with both girls and I need something I can do at home. I like this walking program. We have a Bowflex Treadclimber, so I can do this at home while the girls are asleep at night or napping during the day. I'm also considering doing Insanity. I have it on my lap top, so I'm going to try it out for a week and see which program I like better. So this is my plan. My goal is to be at my goal weight by the end of the year. Thats a little more than 2 pounds a month, so this SHOULD be no problem at all (key word should). I'm hoping "checking in" every week with my weight will keep me motivated and stay on track. Wish me luck!
Sounds like you are determined! You can do it! (and just so you know, I always lose a ton of weight right after I have my babies and keep losing till I stop nursing and then end up gaining and INSANE amount back after I quit nursing. Its embarrassing because a year later you don't have the "i just had a baby excuse" So maybe, with everything that happened with Jasmine your body just barely got out of no more baby mode and started packing it on, but that's just my theory :) You will do great if you stick with it! And kudos to you for eating healthier for your mom, that is great!
ReplyDeleteI know! I lost so much weight right after having the kids because a lot of the preggo weight is water weight, so you lose it pretty fast. It's those last 10ish pounds that kill you! And I'm not nursing so I won't lose any more weight that way either.
DeleteWould you like someone to do this with you? I'd like to lose 10-15 lbs myself. I need to get a scale though. Good luck! You can do it!
ReplyDeleteErnon, you're more than welcome to join in! My friend is in the same position I am (weighs the same as me and has the same goal too), so we're going to have a little contest. Whoever gets to the goal weight first buys dinner. And you know how I feel about getting stuff for free so I am determined to win!
